Here is Turns with his mother Lois, sister Jana, neice Nikki and nephew Zac. We flew to Illinois last month, and I met his family, and Turns saw his family for the first time in 18 years! It was really a great occasion. His family seems like just good ol' midwest wholesomeness.
Lois is 79 years old, and quite spry. I'm sure we'll go back to Illinois for her 80th birthday party next year.
Jana is as sweet as they come. She gave me a cute gift bag of fancy candy, a candle, baked potato mix and a "W" refrigerator magnet just before we left. I'm going to invite her to my blog after I write this; fun!
Nikki is darling - magnetic and quiet. She smiles a lot, and that by smiling back we've communicated.
There really are no words for Zac - I can tell you that he LOVES sports, and hands down he could win a sports trivia contest. Zac is about as outgoing as any 7 year old can get, self-confident and very curious. We had fun playing Junior Apples to Apples.
There is Turns by the Grain Mill his Grampa built and ran forever. Turns is downstairs watching baseball (Cubs anyone?), or I'd get the exact details from him. Anyway, now I'm going to upload some tombstones.
Turns and I scoured the graveyard where his grandparents are buried. Powell is his Mother's side of the family. Addy is his paternal side. It was Grampa Powell that built and ran the grain mill in Glasford, Illinois.
So now you've seen the living and the dead. Life is too short to hold grudges, and too long to hold grudges. Sending love to you all.

What a fun trip! Great pics. It's fun to see Turn's side of the family! They look like wonderful people!
The descriptions next to the pictures are inverse order. The grave stones are at Lamarsh Creek Church outside of Mapleton, IL (population: 120- maybe). Powell is my mother's side of the family and Addy is my father's side.
